Sow in garden beds or containers in from early October to late November in narrow lines and cover with a layer of moist soil.The plant can tolerate partial shade but blooms well in full sun of 5 to 6 hours every day.Water only if the soil is getting too dry for seeds to germinate. Once the roots have established you can reduce the frequency of watering.Containers with good drainage are preferred since the extensive presence of moisture in the soil can dampen the plant.The flowers can also thrive after transplanting if the germinated plant is not too brittle. Deadheading will also promote repeat blooming.
